missed LC

I am a little upset that I missed LC, she was here in T.O., at both Holt Renfrews (Yorkdale and Bloor). How could I not know this...ARGHHHHHHH!!! So mad!

Oh well...until next time.

I had a eye doctor appointment today and before I wanted to stop by Sephora to see if I get a sample of a product that Stfne had recommended. Robin at the Mississauga Sephora location helped me out. I first asked if I could get a sample of Purity by Philosophy. Then Robin wanted to suggest his favorite face cleanser, Soy Face Cleanser by Fresh. He could go on forever about how great it is and then offered me a sample of it. I then told him that I would try out these two cleanser and be back to sample moisturizers.

I must have hit a spot because he got all excited and wanted to show me a great moisturizer that is natural and organic,
Green Apple Antioxidant Moisturizer by Juice Beauty. This products smells so delicious. I am to try one cleanser one week and then the other one the next. And use the moisturizer while trying the cleansers. I will post up my reviews through out my trial process. I think that if I ever need to try new products, I will only go to see Robin. He gets so excited about showing me things. I could have easily stayed in Sephora for over an hour with Robin showing me all his "Favorites". So score #1 for me! Free samples, I LOVE IT!

Next I go to my eye doctor appointment, and I am 15 minutes late because Robin had to show me Lavanilla before I am about to leave. Dr. Nowtash is not in today and I will be seeing another eye doctor. I see the doctor come out of his office and it's a kid...but wait he is an actual eye doctor....I had to ask him his age...he told me to guess...I figured that he had to have gone to school for this so I guess early 30's. Close...he is 29. But then he asks me to tell him honestly how old I thought he was...I said 25 because he seriously looks like a kid. Anyway, I tell him about my crazy right eye, how it's turning in and I can do this trick. I look him straight, square in the face and point out that my right eye is turning in, then I cover my left eye and the right eye centers. Once I let go of my hand that is covering my left eye, it swoops down and turns in...isn't that crazy??? He is fascinated by this and continues to do all these tests for his benefit because he has never seen this happen. It turns out that the prescription for the contacts are too strong and it's making my eyes to do those crazy tricks to focus. He lowers my prescription and says that he will give me a trial pair and to come back in a week. Score #2 - he gives me a whole box of the contacts instead of one pair to try and since my prescription is different in each eye, I now have 6 pairs of contacts!!! Either the young eye doctor really likes me or he is just a moron.

I love scoring free stuff. I can't wait for LifeFest this Friday with Stfne and Brayden. I am sure we will score some free samples there.

is spring almost here yet?

I hear that it's suppose to snow tonight or tomorrow but only 2-4 cm. I really hope that it doesn't because I need spring to hit us. I am tired of the snow, the cold, the winter. I know that everyone curses the winter cold and then curse at the summer humidity but honestly, you know me, I love the beach, so I will take the summer humidity any day.

miQ just recently joined Blogger and used this bright green layout, it reminded me of spring. I thought that maybe if I change my current dark layout to a bright colour, it might cheer me up. What do you think of the new layout scheme? Also note that I have slightly changed my side bar. Just added my guilty pleasures and updated my hot beauty products.

Well, I am done blogging for the day. I started reading Playing for Pizza by John Grisham. It's been a while since I have been into a novel...I better keep going and get my groove on in reading again.

book review: skinny bitch (finale)

I finally finished reading Skinny Bitch. Overall, it was a funny read but I have to admit, the book is almost an invitation to a vegan/vegetarian cult. It tries to draw you in. At the end of the book, it has a weekly menu that you can follow and a list of products and stores that you can shop at. And guess what - it's all vegan/vegetarian...

I am not against those who choose this lifestyle but I don't think that it's for me. After reading the book, I do, at times, think twice about what I will eat. Yes, sometimes eating chicken, red meat or pork turns me off but every now and then, I do love a good steak. I can never turn down sweets but I will start to cut down. I can never eliminate Coke from my life, but I will only treat myself to a can of coke every so often.

Stfne did the right thing by returning the book because it is a silly book. But if you are curious and want to read something silly, just ask to borrow the book from me.

giddy all over

I just heard some wonderful news from a dear friend of mine. I am so happy for her!!! Don't even bother to ask me who or what it's about. It's for me to know...and for you to find out (on your own) LOL!

LB - season 3

Saturday night, I consumed myself with the LB, yes, that's right, Laguna Beach. I loved Season 1 and 2 for the people and their storyline so I didn't care too much for when Season 3 came along. But on Saturday at 9:30 pm, I decided to check out the season on ROD. Cool, the first few episodes were exciting. At midnight, I thought that I should call it a night and go to sleep. Well, I couldn't stop myself from watching, I became addicted...I ended up watching 14 out of the 15 episodes. I finally stop at 2:30 in the morning and decided to watch the last episode the next day.

Yesterday, I did some surfing on the net on season 3. I found this blog made me laugh...if you watched season 3 of LB, check out this
blog, scroll down a bit and read the blogger recaps of the episodes, they are TOO funny!

afternoon with trix

Trix came over yesterday afternoon. This is the first time that it was just me and her. I really got to know her a bit better (I found out that we have something in common, haha). I already knew that she was a super nice person, but hanging out with her one-on-one, I was able to talk to her in a non-social setting. She is a good person and I am glad that I am friends with her. I am also honoured that her and James asked me to be part of their wedding (doing the candle part). Even though she came over so that we could watch The Hills marathon together, it was cool to just hang out and talk.

DS Madness

It's already Saturday morning of the long weekend. I have accomplished nothing. I did not intend on doing anything but relaxing and so far, it's what I have been doing.

Maureen came over Thursday night. We bought some food and wine and chilled out, or should I say we slept. We caught up on episodes of Dance Crew, Girlicious and That's Amore.

The next day, we played Nintendo DS for almost 12 hours straight. I was playing Miami Nights and Maureen was playing Dine Dash. I can't believe that we sat around and just played. We did break to eat, shower and watch Enchanted but for most of the time, our ass was glued to the couch. It was great to have company while Mike is in New York. As soon as she left I crashed!

Note: On Monday after my coaching session, I stopped by The Cupcake Shoppe. I bought half a dozen and got the following flavours - Creamsicle (vanilla cake with vanilla and orange buttercream), After Ate (chocolate cake with mint buttercream), James Brown (chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream), Yonge n' Eligible (vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream), Pretty n' Pink (chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream) and Opposites Attract (chocolate frosting on vanilla cake). My favourite is Opposites Attract because I realized I don't like buttercream. True frosting is so much better.

definitely old

After a long and tiring weekend in Ottawa, I wanted to set up a girls night out. At first I was thinking that we could have dinner and drinks at a lounge downtown, but being out of the scene for so long, I would not know where to go. As this week crept by, I didn't give much thought as to what to do. It ends up that Maureen is going to come over and chill out. I spoke to Maureen and we are just not keen on going out, plus it's still cold outside.

Mike is finally in New York. He ran into James and some of the guys who are on their way to Vegas for James' stag. What a coincidence!

It's long weekend and I hope to just rest up and hang out with family. I have to work next Saturday again for an 11 hour shift. This sucks! Tomorrow I don't have much to do so I plan to update my blog with my final review of Skinny Bitch and some other things...

product review: Chanel's Inimitable Multi-Dimension Mascara

I recently received a sample of Chanel's INIMITABLE Multi-Dimension Mascara at a women's event. I tested it out and loved it. In my opinion, this mascara does not clump or weight down my lashes. I may have a lot of long lashes but with the wrong mascara, my lashes can go limp. It is pricey - $34 - but I bought it at The Bay with a gift card that I had. You can also purchase this mascara at Holt Renfrew. Here is the description from the website:

Mascara featuring a unique brush, for a four-dimensional makeup result. Spectacular volume, infinite length, extreme curl, instant separation. INIMITABLE mascara from CHANEL uses an original and innovative technology: an innovative technical process that makes it possible to produce a brush with soft elastomer bristles that is perfectly adapted to the desired makeup result:
• bristles aligned in perfect symmetry, so that each lash is coated to perfection
• bristles with the ideal length to draw out lashes to the maximum
• bristles lined up with absolute accuracy
• bristles fineness and suppleness offering complete precision

When the brush holds the perfect amount of mascara, an optimal makeup result is guaranteed: if the white of the brush is still visible, dip it in the mascara again. Apply, to the lashes from root to tip. Apply mascara to lower lids if desired to make your eyes look even bigger.

I decided not to do a blarkness rating because, really, I only do product reviews on the things I like best!

tomorrow...i'm off

It's almost 11 pm and I am not sleepy. My flight to Ottawa isn't until 11 am, so I don't really have to sleep now. I just curled my hair and painted my nails. Mike's busy watching the game and I have nothing to do but surf the net since I am waiting for my nails to dry. I plan to relax in my hotel room when I arrive in Ottawa, have dinner with Robin and then watch Survivor and Lost. Friday is a 12-hour day and Saturday is a 14-hour that will end in a night cap of champagne at the hotel bar. Sunday, it's back home by noon and chilling out with Mike. I can't wait for the weekend to be over, it's the one weekend I dread each year.

I have things to blog about...

...but I am lazy. Not really lazy, more like, I don't know where to start. I want to do a new "What's in my Bag" (for the time being, look what others have in their bag - In Style Bag Blog), review some of the movies I just watched, talk about my business work trip this weekend, etc.

Work has been busy and I also have been wanting to relax on the weekend. After the competition this weekend in Ottawa, things will slow down and I can get back to meeting up with old friends and catching up, maybe taking a short trip somewhere and even updating this damn blog.

So heads up, you won't be hearing from me for a while but when I am back, I will be back in full force with lots to write about. BTW - I don't know if I mentioned it before but I have my first session with a life coach this coming Monday.

book I am reading (part 2)

So Stephanie was right...after she commented on my last post about returning the book because it was like the book was trying to turn whoever reads it into a vegetarian, I finally read the chapter on "You Are What you Eat". It was disgusting. It talked about the slaughtering of animals. People who worked in slaughter houses spoke about what actually goes on. After reading this chapter, I think could turn into a vegetarian but I enjoy a good steak so I decided to just skip over the quotes. I am happily on the next chapter and will just continue reading on.

product review: Scrubbing Bubbles

Mike and I were cleaning this morning and I had the lovely duty of cleaning the bathroom. Today, I decided to try out the bathroom cleaner that the Dagas put in our gift. Each year they put together a gift bag of all the products that they have tried and give their seal of approval. Scrubbing Bubbles was in it. This foaming spray is awesome. It really cleaned and put a shine to the tub and the faucet. The only thing it didn't leave beaming was the tiles on the wall. I will have to find a different product for this.

|blarkness rating 5/5|
(Notice that all my product reviews are 5 out of 5, I never post anything that I am not happy with)
