stay tuned

I want to blog but I can't seem to find the time. Here are some of the things I wanted to blog about:
  1. my trip to mexico
  2. product review (eyeliner)
  3. update my guilty pleasures
Okay - I thought there were other things but I guess that's it.

On Sunday night, I had the funniest iChat with Marilen. We are so much alike, I swear we were twins of something. We are both so vain and love touching our hair. The cat episode was hilarious. I can't believe that it has come into your house through the window a couple of times. I would lysol all over the house. Speaking of lysol, I am obsessed, I now spray my footwear when I walk into the door. I do it exactly like you...turn over my shoes over the carpet, then spray!

busy busy busy

Just came back from Mexico on Saturday. Work is busy, my mom and my brother are moving out of their apartment, we've got a wedding on Friday and a 30th birthday party on Saturday. I will write a short post on my trip later but for now, take a look at our vacation pictures here.

P.S. - I ended up buying a bikini the day before we left, a smart looking black & white one with funky rings on the top and bottom. I was able to mix and match it with my black bottoms and white top! Thanks for voting the poll and helping me with my decision!

...and we're off

In 9 more hours, Mike and I will be taking off to the Mayan Riviera...sun, sand, all inclusive...HERE WE COME!!! We are staying at El Dorado Seaside Suites.

It's been a grueling week for me. Since I last posted, I had dinner with Darren at Urban. We were able to catch up and eat some good food. I am glad that Dee and I make an effort to stay in touch even it's not as often as we would like. Wednesday was my company's End of Term gala dinner at the Royal York Hotel and then the after party at Vertical. After two glasses of wine, four cosmos and two more glasses of wine to top the night off...I was done by 2 am. Cab ride from downtown to home...not so good and hangover the next day at work...even worse. Thursday and today were crazy busy at work but who gives a shit now...I am leaving soon...

So, see you in a week...I'll be back all tanned and you'll be jealous. xoxo

BTW

I updated my sidebars...nothing really exciting but I thought I would just change it up.

I just started reading Fashionable Late. Julie lent it to me so I have reading material for Mexico. She also lent me Forever Blue. I will be bringing Flip Flopped, a book I bought for $4.99 in the bargain section.

It's already 11:01 pm, I should really try to get some zzz's. It's going to be a long and busy week but for some reason, I feel like packing up my head's not in it. Looks like I will have to finish it all up on Thursday night.

Tomorrow night is dinner with Darren. It's time to catch up, buddy!

weekend recap for May 30 and June 6

I have been really lazy and I have been pretty busy on the weekends so I must have something to write about. Let's go back to the weekend of May 30th...

It started off with Grace & Jeff's wedding at the Old Mill. I missed the ceremony because we had two big time US lawyers speak at our Education Centre. Mike, Dwight and I made it just in time for dinner. I was exhausted so I let Mike and Dwight get their drink on and I parked my butt on a couch and chatted with many of Grace's cousins, all of whom are very sweet. Mike and Dwight closed down the reception, well, really it was Mike because he spent the last hour or so in the bathroom puking. The cab ride home was interesting...I haven't seen Mike that drunk in a really long time.

Saturday I went to Vinyl Lounge (aka Ross' store) with my mom and I bought two CDs (The Cure's Greatest Hits and Robin Thicke's album, The Evolution of Robin Thicke - best album ever). Then I got ready for the surprise lingerie shower Dianne threw for Stephanie at
Flow Restaurant and Lounge. It was a small party of 10 of her closest family and friends. Good compant, good food and good drinks, my new drink of the summer, Prosecco & Red Passionfruit Alize. After Julie picked me up and we went to Pur. It's been a REALLY long time since i last went to a club. Julie downed about 4 drinks in an hour...and then it happened...let's just say we saw someone we both really did not want to see...anyway, I had a great time with Julie. It reminded me of this one time we went to Power Bar on a Saturday night, just me and her. We will always remember and bring up this night because it was so random!

Now, on to this past weekend, June 6th...

Friday started off with an impromtu BBQ that Jimmy threw because Mike said so. Jimmy picked me up at 6:30 and we chilled on his balcony. Anyway, 3 hours later and 4 or so glasses of wine later, I found myself crashed out on the living room floor. I must have fallen asleep around midnight once the guys started to play 2K8. I was woken up at 3 am and told to go to bed. The good thing...I finally finished
Love the One You're With by Emily Griffin. It's a great book and I highly recommend it to the ladies, trust me, you can all relate! blarkness rating: 5/5

Saturday, oh ya, Mike and I slept over at Hakkim Hotel (thanks again A for the Bath & Body goodies) and were treated to once again, a delicious breakfast. Jimmy, Mike and I just chilled out on their comfy couch, that damn ceiling fan! In the afternoon, we dropped by Julie and Mikey's newly renovated house. It looks awesome, so modern and very different from how it looked before. We rushed home so that I could watch Sex and the City with Stfne. Holy finally! Loved the everything about the movie and will have to watch it again! I do secretly wish that Aidan was thrown into the mix. blarkness rating: 5/5

Sunday ended off with the beautiful bridal shower for Trix at Terra Restaurant. This has to be the FANCIEST shower I have ever been to. Trix's mom, sister and bridesmaids did an awesome job. Check out the photos here. A 4 course meal, champagne and wine, lovely centrepieces, fun games (I won a OPI mini polish set and an Essie crystal nail file for matching TV couples), cupcakes for the giveaways...I was glad to have been invited and I also thank MoBerry for letting me hitch a ride.

So, that's it from me for now...I have to get ready for my company's big End of Term gala this Wednesday and then it's off to Mexico on Saturday! I can't wait. And one last thing...Happy 2nd Anniversary Mike...I know that we didn't do anything to celebrate on Saturday but we have the whole week at El Dorado to pig out on food and tan like a bitch!!!

fabFIVE on rotation

It's been a while since I have posted what I am listening to. After looking at my top 5 songs, I realized that I am such a POP head. I only listen to Top 40 songs but I don't care, to each his own (is that really the saying?). So, here is my list (and shut up Ross, I know you are laughing at me):

When I Grow Up, PCD - I saw them perform this song on the MTV Movie Awards and didn't care too much for it but after listening to it on my iPod and hearing HAHAHA (reminds me of Heidi's bday on The Hills, one of my favorite scenes) in the song, it's grown on me.

Yesterday, Leona Lewis - Kind of reminds me of Mariah Carey, pre-diva days.

See My Side, Jordin Sparks - I really love her album and she was here last night with Alicia Keys and Ne-Yo (I love his album too). I am so kicking myself for not going when Jimmy had asked. I am such a loser. This song reminds me of a lullaby, but a funkier version!

Close to Me, The Cure - I have been wanting this song for ages. I heard it in the movie Accepted and then I heard it again during Critical Mass in SF. It's haunting me. I know it's an old song but I love it. Ross told me that he had The Cure's Greatest Hits CD in his store, Vinyl Lounge, so I made it my first purchase.

Calabria, Enur featuring MIMS & Natasja - It took forever to find the title of this song. I heard it when I was listening to DJ AM's live set from Banana Split on his myspace and then I heard it again when I went clubbing with Julie this past weekend. We kept on saying how much we love the song. Then this week crazy Julie figured out the name of the song when it came on the radio.

movie review: jumper

Today I watched Jumper. I originally wanted to watch this movie in the theater. I knew that there would be some cool effects so it would have made sense to see it on a big screen. I never got around to it, so watching on a 50" would have to do.

I have mixed thoughts about this movie. I enjoyed it but didn't. I liked the story line but I felt that there was something missing...missing in the middle. The graphics and effects were good and Hayden Christensen is hot in the movie (much, much better than being the robotic Anakin in the Star Wars movies). But yet, I can't seem to pinpoint what I felt was missed in order to complete the movie.
