83% picked TDWP. As much as I loved the television series, Sex and the City and thought the movie gave me closure, TDWP is a movie that can be watched over and over again...

I am surprised I like the movie so much. I read the book and was so disappointed with it. I lost interest in it quickly and struggled to finish it. This is a rare case where the movie is better than the book. Just talking about the movie makes me want to watch it over the weekend. Hey - did I ever mention that I lucked out and bought TDWP for only $14.99? Hands down the best deal I ever got for a Blu-ray movie.

Thanks Maureen for the cupcakes. I ate half of the DIVA one last night (I was so full from bubble tea). The cake is good but too much frosting. I am not a big fan of butter cream. I can't wait to try the rest.

ajax baby tour

It's weird how Mike and I wake up at 7:30 on a Saturday morning and we don't even have any kids. We got our day started and headed off to our first stop in Ajax - The Ponce's. With a Starbucks order in hand and beautiful sunshine to drive in, we arrived to two kids beaming with smiles on their faces. We ate some hakka food while the two grown boys cracked some inside jokes (thank guys, I can never look at some people the same way ever again). I saw R.J.'s "fa la la" dance and Rylen schooled Mike on Bakugan. I can't wait to meet the 3rd Ponce boy and have some yummy potato salad and bbq ribs at your summer BBQ. Here is a picture of R.J., Rylen didn't want to pose for the camera.


Next was the Recto-Hakkim house. This kid, Marques is just a sturdy little boy. He has this stare that will make you feel uncomfortable but yet it's so cute. He constantly stares at Mike but we have no idea why. He got a closet that girls dream of, all organized according to size and style. He's got cool parents who always think of others (they got me some things that I needed and I didn't even ask!) and have an endlesss supply of chocolate. I love going to this house! I think Mike and I need to have an overnight stay at the Hakkim Hotel soon! Here's a picture of lil Marques.


The last stop wasn't in Ajax but on our way home. We waited out the storm and then made our way to visit the Dagas. Stfne wasn't home yet so it was just me and all the boys. Mike almost got conned into playing Bakugans again but he weasled his way out of it. When Stfne got home, we ate sushi and then had some girl talk (Bray, Rex and Mike played Wii). Callum went to sleep so I didn't get much playing time with him. I had to take a picture of him sleeping. I can't believe how old Brayden is, I remember when he was this little chubby baby and now he is this boy who rats his dad out, knows how to get his way but I love that even though he won't listen to his dad, he will still listen to his Tita Leesha!

It was a long day but all the visits were so much fun. The bonus part of my baby tour was I got some free stuff from Stfne and Adaiah. It's like I went shopping but didn't have to hit the mall. I love free stuff. Thanks to everyone for letting Mike and I invite ourselves over. Feel free to come over anytime. Your babies are welcome (we've now got those kid mat)!!!

new flat iron

I feel like I have the straightest hair on the face of this planet, so why on earth would I buy a flat iron? Three reasons: 1) I can use it to curl my hair (which I love doing), 2) When my hair is feeling dry and lifeless, straightening it makes soft, silky and healthy looking and 3) My hubby uses the flat iron more than I do. With the last reason said, I am going to get a kick out of every time Mike has to use my new flat iron - which by the way was only $39 at Winners and it works great.

I didn't do a playlist this week because I wasn't listening to anything so instead, to honour today's sunshine, I created a playlist with songs that contain "sunshine" in them. Now get out there and enjoy the sun!

bags galore

Remember last year when I was upset that my bag was destroyed and I had no idea what happened? I think I have a found a way to save my bag. I read an article on the Toronto Life website about Kaner's Handbag and Shoe Repair (tucked away underneath the Nike Store on Bloor) and it looks like they are going to fix it. I thought that it was going to cost me an arm and a leg but he quoted me $25. I am so happy because as summer is approaching, I may be able to use my favorite summer bag once again. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they will be able to sew my bag together to hide that nasty hole.

As an old bag is going to be fixed, I am jonsing a new one. I am eyeing the Parker Clutch at Coach. I haven't bought a bag from Coach in a long time but I really, really want this one. If I get a 25% discount off of this bag, is it worth spending $218 (taxes in)??? Let me know...

Thanks Julie for the walk around Yorkville. It was a good day to be outdoors and we did so well and didn't spend a lot. I hope you enjoy MAC's lip gelée in Slicked Pink. When I first saw it, I thought of you. Tomorrow begins the search of any Cremesheen Glass I can get my hands on. I am an idiot for not buying it when I saw them.

BH 90210 vs 90210

It's not a contest, it's not a poll. I just think that it would be cool if most of the characters from the original cast would do a guest appearance for a couple of episodes or have a recurring role. I am enjoying the Kelly, Donna and Brenda comeback so it got me thinking...what would happen if the writers brought back some of the originals. Here's who I would bring back:

DYLAN - Since he is talked about so much already in 90210 and is Sammy's dad, he might as well show up. It would be interesting is Kelly and Ryan (new cast) start dating seriously and then Dylan shows up.

DAVID - They have already re-introduced Donna and even those they are separated, David should have come back to Beverly Hills to check in on Silver (re: manic depression storyline) and to follow Donna and Ruby.

GINA - the half-sister or cousin of Donna (I think), Donna should pay her a visit, well, that is if Gina is living somewhere in L.A.

STEVE, JANET AND MADDIE - Maddie could easily be a teenage girl going to West Beverly High. Lindsay Price is not on TV anymore since Lipstick Jungle got cancelled so she should get a recurring role. Steve and Janet could be running a L.A. magazine and one of the girls could intern at their company.

BRANDON - He needs to come and visit his sister Brenda and then his parents should come home for the holidays and have a great, big party at Brenda's and invite all the new and old cast. Brandon, then could make a pass at Kelly and then a fight would break out with Brandon, Dylan and Ryan.

CARLY - she had a son named Zack, could be a kid going to high school too. Since Annie doesn't have a boyfriend, she could start to date Zack.

NOAH - since he liked kids so much but wasn't into Ellen (she had a daughter Caitlin), let's say that he married Carly. Caitlin could be another kid going to West Beverly High.

RAY - Mr. Pruit. He is still a wannabe rockstar and plays at the West Beverly High prom. Kelly and Donna hook him up with the gig.

That's all I can remember. I did need to look up some names/story lines but I think that these characters should make a comeback, whether it's my made up scenarios or newly created story lines, I would love to see the originals come back at some point.

Today I lost three followers. I have no idea who they are because I don't keep track of who started following me and when. Here are the results from my poll about Twitter followers:

...I bought T3 Refresh Volumizing Dry Shampoo. Yes, I will admit that I wash my hair every three days. I like to curl my hair and I find that my hair holds a curl better when it's dirty. But I do need to refresh so this dry shampoo soaks up any oils but also leaves my dirty hair feeling fresh and clean.


I also bought Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash. I tried it when Aidah gave me the set that she got at the W. It's great! I feel like it really deep cleans my face and remove all makeup and impurities. Today, while I was debating if I should buy it or not, Marie says, "why don't you just go to the W hotels to get the products, that's what I do". She's so cute! I might return it though...I like to have face wash in the shower and I may have an extra bottle of ProActiv cleanser. If I find an extra bottle to put in the shower, then I am returning the Bliss bottle.

For anyone who got the coupon, don't forget that tomorrow is the last day to use it. I wonder if I print out the coupon again, if I can use it tomorrow? There is nothing else I really need. I do want Benefit's Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow but I can probably wait until next paycheque.

Yesterday, the BC Crew got to witness the oldest crew member get married. Congratulations to Rich and Gina. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception. Our crew doesn't get together that often but when we do, it's such a memorable and fun time. One moment that stands out is Chuck jumping off the head table. Good thing the guys caught him. I wish it was captured on video but I guess no one saw that coming.

I am still recovering from last night and my brain can't process what I want to write. So I will leave it at this. More pictures to come once the battery in our camera gets charged.

eye makeup remover

I love 2000 Calorie Extreme mascara but it's hella hard to remove. I currently have drugstore brand remover - Almay and Rimmel. They are okay to use for regular mascara but I find that it doesn't take off the waterproof mascara that I wear. I have decided that I should pick up a better remover and lucky for me, Lancome has a bonus at The Bay.

good day sunshine

I love it when it's sunny outside. It cheers you up, makes you smile and want to sing. If it were sunny all year around, I would be a grumpy bitch for half the year. It's beautiful outside, it's Friday, what more can anyone ask for? Sure, I want a million dollars but I will settle for the sun for now.

It's been a slow work week but I have been busy socializing after work - dinner with my mom, visiting Pernia, shopping and tonight, Mike and I are going to BierMarkt for Pernia's little get together. Tomorrow is Rich and Gina's wedding. If it's anything like some of the other weddings in our crew...we are all going to get trashed!!!
It's going to be a busy and tiring weekend but I am sure it will all be worth it.

blossom lounge

Today I had an hour to kill before catching the 5:13 Go Train home. I stopped by Blossom Bath and Body at TD Centre along the PATH. I have gone into this store many times but have only made one purchase and I can't even remember what it was. It has cool cosmetics, bath/skin products, etc. The store is in a small space but packed with many brands. I was browsing through the store but ended up talking to the salesperson Vivian for a good 15 minutes. We talked about not having enough time to visit with friends these days, my tattoos on my wrists (she loved the one of my right wrist), my Cole Haan bag and my favorite topic - all-inclusive resorts!!! She is super nice and I hated that I had to leave to catch my train and the fact that I didn't buy anything.

Blossom Lounge has a two locations in Unionville, in addition to the one I just mentioned. Some brands/products of interest: Anthony Logistics (men's skincare - hubby's fav), Pacifica (candles) and Pangea Organics (body oil).

I @replied louloumagazine on Twitter regarding nail polish today. I love getting my nails done (whether I do it myself or go to a salon) so any talk of nail polish sparks my interest. product review: max factor 2000 calorie extreme

In my quest for the perfect mascara, I tried the next on my list - Max Factor's 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper. This mascara may be my new favorite. It lengthens, separates and adds volume. It fills my requirements for my perfect mascara. I tried the waterproof one because I find that it holds onto my lashes better. The brush is the kind I like and it has a patented fat wrap formula that plumps up lashes with each swipe.

What I really hate is that I can't get any of Max Factor's mascara here, I always have to wait to ask someone to pick some up for me. Luckily my mom was in the States over Christmas and picked me up three tubes of Volume Couture (my other fav).

If you ever hit a drugstore in the States, please pick up one of Max Factor's mascara for yourself to try. I highly recommend it!

cupcake dreams

Isn't it great when you crave for chocolate cake and chocolate cupcakes appear at your door? It's like the cupcake fairy heard my cry for cake! Thanks to sweetmre. You made my day and I am trying my hardest to not eat them all at once!

the hills: season 1 vs season 3

Today I didn't go to work. I am exhausted and tired. But to keep me company throughout the day while I rested, I had The Hills on for background noise. I started off with Season 1 and then skipped to Season 3. Yes, I am a big Lauren fan and I love Brody (he's hot). I can't believe I just admitted those two things. Anyway, here are the differences that I noticed:

• Lauren lost a lot of weight. She was a bit on the chubbier side in season 1. I guess Jarett the trainer paid off.
• Obviously, Heidi got the her lips done, plus the nose and boob job.
  
• I use to miss Lauren and Jason together, now I realized I miss Lauren and Brody more. They should just forget their friendship and hook up for real (like I mean in real life).
• The Hills has paid off because Lauren has a nicer place.
• Frankie is the mediator and is always on neutral ground. He is a good friend to have around - he'll break up all the fights.
• Heidi's ex, Jordan was quite annoying but so is Spencer. Actually Heidi is the annoying one so maybe it's whoever is with her also becomes the same way.
• Jen Bunney really loves those platform shoes and wide leg jeans. She wears them in Season 1 and again in 3. I guess she's not making any money if she still has the same clothes.
  
• It's good that Lo is back in Lauren's life. Although she can be mean to Audrina at times, she keeps Lauren in line. She really grew into herself because in Laguna she wasn't a looker.
• My favorite scene in season 3 is in the first episode when Lauren meets the British guy at a club and asks Whitney if he's good looking (because she's drunk) and Whitney straight up says NO! Classic. I love that Whitney is a no bull-shit kinda gal.
  

WOW - did I just write this post? Can you tell that I am really bored on this Thursday night?

american dreams

Something sparked an interest for me to want to watch American Dreams. I don't know what it is. It was cancelled years ago and I don't think that I ever watched an episode but what intrigues me is that real singers guest starred on this show as singers from the 60's and 70's. Some of the artists who appeared on the show - 112, Alicia Keys, Hilary Duff, Nick Carter, B2K, Marques Houston, Usher, Jason Mraz, Nicole Richie, Leann Rimes, John Legend, Joss Stone, etc...the list goes on and on.

I am debating whether or not I should buy the boxed set or just watch them on You Tube. As I normally do, I will test run before I commit to buying. I found the pilot on You Tube and will watch it over the long weekend.

Does anyone remember watching this show? Does anyone remember Rags to Riches? I use to love watching Rags to Richies - anything with people singing, I love to watch. It's funny I say this because I won't watch Across the Universe.

UPDATE: It's 10:50 pm and I just watched the pilot for American Dreams. I think I am going to buy the boxed set, I think it's 7 discs and only $25. Or do I save money and just look for all episodes on You Tube?

sitting, waiting, wishing

Like Jack Johnson sings...I am sitting, waiting and wishing...that Transat Holidays would drop their price for our June vacation. This year, Mike and I are taking a break from vacationing on our own and will be going away with JP and Lyn. The place and resort has been determined but it's for us to know and for you to find out once we come back. Mike and I researched where we want to go to our hearts content and won't disclose to others where we are going until we book with Dionne ( at Bel Air Travel). I am keeping my eye open for the price to drop (even right now, it's a decent price) but there is a new place in mind with Sunquest...a potential new place to go that is opening up on May 30th but it's hard to risk it seeing that we want to leave on 5th or 7th of June. Going to a newly opened resort faces challenges and you need to be open-minded and patient I guess we will see who comes up with a better price.

sweet flour bake shop

Customized cookies? Cool! I received a sweet email from Sweet Spot about Sweet Flour Bake Shop and I definitely have to check out this place. I love, love cupcakes but I also have a soft spot for cookies. If you check out the website, you will see all the mix-ins you can choose from, there are more than 20 options. I wouldn't even know which two mix-ins to choose. The other cool cookie option on the menu is a cookie sandwich. The spreads I would choose chocolate ganache, or peanut butter or salted caramel - too many choices.

The bake shop is close to my tattoo guy, so this month when I go to get my next tattoo, I must stop into the shop before. If you happen to check out the place, let me know how it is. Sweetness! - as Rex and Bray would say...
