Monday Memories: If You Go Away - New Kids on the Block

Why does it seem like my Monday Memories is turning into Music Mondays? I have been playing this video over and over again so I thought I would share it with you guys. To me, this isn't one of the most popular New Kids of the Block songs but it's definitely one of my favorites...

I think it's hilarious that Danny actually has some solo singing parts (well ad libs) around 3:16 of the video.

38 is the new hot age

I have been know to be somewhat of a cougar, always turning my head when a younger guy passes by. Heck, my husband is even younger than me but I am finding these days that many of the men I crushed on back in the day are aging quite well. You may not agree with me but you have to check it out for yourself. These actors/singers are looking quite handsome age at the ripe old (ha!) age of 38 (most of them will be turning 39 this year).

I have been wanting to write up this post for some time now but after having dinner with my two friends, Kathy and Maureen and discussing how Kat's husband is turning 40 this year, I went on my rant how 38 is a hot age at the moment. I promised Maureen I would disclose who is on my hot list.

Ben Affleck
love at first sight - A.J. Frost in Armageddon

Joey McIntyre
love at first sight - New Kids on the Block, Please Don't Go Girl

 Brian Austin Green
love at first sight - definitely not as David Silver on Beverly Hills, 90210, maybe when he hooked up with Megan Fox

 love at first sight - he's just a hot rapper

 Eric Dane
love at first sight - Dr. Mark Sloan aka McSteamy on Grey's Anatomy

Paul Walker
love at first sight - Dean Sampson in She's All That (there's also too many other movies to mention)

Josh Duhamel
love at first sight - Tad Hamilton in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!

Recipe: Peach Cake

We had a whole can of peaches that we didn't know what to do with, so I searched online to find a quick and simple (and easy) recipe. This was done in no time and is really delicious. I added just a touch of the peach syrup to add more flavour. Enjoy!

    * 3 egg, beaten
    * 1 3/4 cups white sugar (I didn't have enough white sugar so I used 1 1/2 of white sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar)
    * 1 cup vegetable oil
    * 2 cups all-purpose flour
    * 1 teaspoon salt
    * 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    * 1 teaspoon baking soda
    * 2 cups fresh peaches - peeled, pitted and sliced (or you can used canned peaches)
    * 1/2 cup chopped pecans

   1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
   2. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, oil, flour, salt, cinnamon, baking soda, peaches and pecans. Mix thoroughly by hand.
   3. Pour into prepared 9x13 inch pan and bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 35 minutes or until done. (the original recipe said to cook for 50 minutes but after 35 minutes, it looked done to me and was even a bit burnt at the bottom)

Fill in the Blank Friday (another random edition)

I am so glad Friday is finally here but aren't we always happy that Friday has arrived? It was a tough, busy week but it went by quickly. I went out twice this week for some good eats and drinks. Wings and beer on Wednesday night and then more beer with tacos and yam fries on Thursday. I don't have much to do this weekend except for lunch plans with my mom's friends tomorrow. Other than laundry, I plan to chill out for the rest of the weekend (don't I do this every weekend?). Now it's time for Fill in the Blank Friday. I have missed the past two Fridays, shame on me...

1.   If my house was on fire and I could only grab 3 things I would grab my iPhone, wallet and brother's ashes. Really, I would for sure grab my bag since I carry my life around with me.

2.  A smell I really like is freshly baked bread and bounce (or fresh laundry).

3.  Something you might not know about me is that I was born in the Northwest Territories, that's right, I'm an Eskimo.

4.  Some of my favorite websites to putter about on are
Just Jared, TV Fanatic and InStyle.

5.  This weekend I will catch up on some blog reading, watch the shows I missed this week - Friday Night Lights, The Vampire Diaries and Grey's Anatomy, read a bit of the book I'm reading and maybe start an inspiration project.

6. Nothing makes me happier than knowing I don't have to work for the next two days.

7.  A bad habit I have is rubbing my husband's ear. See, rubbing someone's ear helped me fall asleep when I was a little kid and when I can't sleep, I try to rub my hubby's ear and he ABSOLUTELY hates it!

If you would like to join in the fun, check out Lauren's blog and don't forget to link up your answers. Have an awesome weekend everyone!

Sephora by OPI: Ms. Can't Be Wrong

This week's colour is Ms. Can't Go Wrong, it's a purple-magenta colour. Very similar to Miami Beet by OPI's South Beach Collection. Again, it's another great colour for summer but it's still okay to wear in the winter. Now that I think about it, this could be a year-around colour.

Please excuse the real crappy job I did painting my nails.  On Wednesday night, I really should have been in bed but I decided to paint them while watching Cougar Town hence the hot mess on my nails.

Nail Tip #4
It's good to lightly buff your nails to get rid of the ridges. Smooth nail beds allow for the nail polish to adhere or even look super polished with just a coat of clear polish.

It's okay... want to buy every single season of Beverly Hills, 90210, call in sick for a week and just have a marathon (of course, this would never happen) think Michael Copon is hot again after seeing him to Kourtney and Kim Take New York be so undecided about a free trip when the resort isn't quite up to your standards try to recruit people to join Twitter because it's so much fun following friends and celebrities dream about one day working for a fashion magazine or a cosmetics company think that Black Swan was a little too freaky and scary

My first Etsy purchase

One of the first blogs I started following was Post Grad Hair Cut. I was amazed at how crafty this girl was. Over the year, I began to follow her on Twitter and was introduced to her Etsy store, Sam Made. She tweeted about her own Etsy purchases and told her I was nervous about ordering online and she reassured me it was easy peasy. So, what better way to start buying from Etsy than to purchase something from Sam Made herself. When she tweeted that her leather pouches were on sale, I pounced at the chance to get the gold one (which I was eyeing for quite some time).

There, I have finally made my first Etsy purchase and I am quite nervous that there will be many more future purchases.  Thank you Sam for introducing me to a whole new world (did I just sound like Aladdin?).

Just wanted to show you how cute and small it is

Monday Memories: Boomerang

Over the weekend, Mike and I were going through our CD collection which is all neatly tucked away into CD binders. I came around the CD for the Boomerang soundtrack. It brought back memories of how a bunch of us (back in grade 10) all went to watch this movie. I haven't seen the movie in ages and will probably try to watch it this coming weekend but I remember liking the movie and the soundtrack.

Do you remember some of the songs off the soundtrack? I've bold the songs that I like.

   1. "Give U My Heart" - Babyface featuring Toni Braxton - 5:01
   2. "It's Gonna Be Alright" - Aaron Hall featuring Charlie Wilson - 5:34
   3. "Tonight Is Right" - Keith Washington - 4:28
   4. "I'd Die Without You" - P.M. Dawn - 4:11
   5. "7 Day Weekend" - Grace Jones - 4:56
   6. "End Of The Road" - Boyz II Men - 5:48
   7. "Reversal Of A Dog" - The LaFace Cartel - 5:45
   8. "Love Shoulda Brought You Home" - Toni Braxton - 4:56
   9. "There U Go" - Johnny Gill - 5:16
  10. "Don't Wanna Love You" - Shanice - 4:32
  11. "Feels Like Heaven" - Kenny Vaughan & 'The Art Of Love' - 2:04
  12. "Hot Sex" - A Tribe Called Quest - 2:45

My weekend (Jan 21-23)

Why does Sunday come so quickly? I can't believe that although I woke up at 7:30 this morning, it's almost 2 pm. I have no idea what time the football game is on at but I plan to watch it and just chill out for the rest of the day.

Friday was a busy day. I had a work conference and our registration line was all screwed up. Anyway, the conference ran 30 mins behind schedule so my plans to go shopping after didn't happen. I got home after getting some groceries and just crawled into bed and watch an episode of Friday Night Lights. I am seriously going to miss this show when it comes to an end. Why it didn't hit off with Canadians will always be a mystery but I think it's because Canadians aren't really into football-based TV shows. Everyone does not realize what they are missing.

 {B & B}

Saturday morning was filled with cleaning and cooking. Earlier in the week, my younger sister-in-law wanted to borrow a dress for next weekend so she said she would come to take a look in my closet. Then my other sister-in-law sends me a text to say that they'll be in the area and will also be stopping by. Cool, cooking and having nine people in the condo won't be that bad, considering 3 of them are kids.  Mike and I cooked up some slow cooked korean bbq ribs, pork belly & kimchi, spicy sesame bean sprouts, rice w/ seaweed and for dessert, almond jelly with mandarin oranges. As we were waiting for both families to arrive, Mike's parents called to ask why they were not invited over and said that they would be coming over. Great 11 people in our condo which is less than 700 sq ft. Well, at the end of the day, no one was squished, everyone was fed and we all had a good time (I hope). Once everyone left, we cleaned up, turned on the dishwasher and headed straight to bed to watch some movies.

We watched Black Swan (wow, I just don't know what to think of it). It was a good movie but parts scared me so I read my In Style magazine (of course, with Natalie Portman) while watching. After, we watched You Again. Do me a favour and don't watch this movie. It sucks big time.

Today, I caught up on blog reading and commenting while watching an episode of One Tree Hill I missed back in December. I hate to say this but I am glad the show is ending this season because I find it very boring now. The storyline with Sarah and Quinn is tired and old. Maybe it's just this episode because it only focused on some characters rather than multiple story lines. If you still watch OTH, what do you think of this last and final season? Remember a time when it was all about Brooke and Lucas?

Which brings me to what else I was looking at online, Celebrity Bride Guide and Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray's wedding photos can be found on this site, along with so many other celebrities.

I hope you had a good weekend and are enjoying the rest of Sunday afternoon. Stay warm!

Product Review: Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick

Who isn't into lipstick these days? If you are obsessed like me, you are probably wanting to add to your lipstick collection. I read about Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in a magazine (I can't remember which one) and decided to head over to the Sephora by my place. Unfortunately, they did not have any shades in stock that I wanted. A couple weeks later, I went to another Sephora location and they were fully stocked with every shade. I decided on two for now, Monte Carlo (magenta) and Shanghai (deep raspberry).

These lipsticks are a three-in-one product - it lines, colours and plumps. It's made without parabens, sulfates and phthalates but has the added goodness of antioxidant vitamins A, C and E for soft, smooth lips.

{monte carlo}

What I adore about these lip sticks is the shape of it. I love the creamy texture and the ease of application without a brush. The tingly feeling you get when you apply is a weird sensation at first but you get use to the minty flavour. The colour does last quite long and does not dry out.

Originally, I picked up two since the store had all the shades. I was planning to return Shanghai but after trying Monte Carlo, I am going to keep both and probably pick up a couple more (Brooklyn, Fresno, Tokyo, Barcelona and maybe Athens). I just went on Sephora's site and saw that there are a bunch of new shades that will be released soon. Be sure to check it out, each one is retailed at $23 CDN and $18 US.

i just got inspired!

I really did. I got inspired suddenly but not for this blog (unfortunately). As you may know (or maybe not), my husband and I have a shared blog and it's all about our beach travels. If you haven't checked it out, you can find it here. We started Beach Junkies because after our vacations, many of our friends would want to hear all about it. It was too much to email so it made sense to do it somewhere centralized. Plus, we like helping other beach-goers with their research and decision-making when trying to find the right resort. It's hard to write posts for the blog when we only get to go away twice a year. Sometimes we ask our friends to write reviews but most don't pull through. It's okay, writing reviews is time-consuming.

Well, I thought that instead of asking friends to write reviews, what if we ask them one simple question - what's your favorite beach photo. But then I thought, why not through add in a few extra questions like best and worst resort...

So, fellow bloggers, here is where you come in. If you are a beach lover like us and want to contribute to our blog, send us an email at and we will send you the details of what we need from you. Before you commit, feel free to check out our blog, Beach Junkies and don't forget to follow us on twitter at @beachjunkies.

Sephora by OPI: Access 24/7

Although too bright for the winter, I like this colour, Access 24/7. It's a hot pink that will go perfectly with the new lipstick I bought. I think I may already have this shade (but from Essie) in my nail polish collection. Again, I had to slap on three coats. This seems to be the trend with Sephora by OPI. With the regular OPI polishes, two coats is good enough.

 I finally took a picture which a real camera.

Nail tip #3
To make your polish last longer, make sure to apply a top coat. Two days later, apply another layer of top coat to ensure chipping won't start.

Monday Memories: Gino and his record player

With all little kids, there's a toy that will always be held near and dear to their heart and it's because at some point in their life, they could never part with it. As I was reading through random blogs, I came across this photo:

My brother had this exact record player when he was little and loved to play with it. Although seeing this photo brought some tears to my eyes, I also let out a giggle. What makes me laugh is that who knew that 20 something-odd years later, the little boy who loved this plastic record player would grow up to a young man with dreams of opening up his own record store. After Gino passed, I was lucky enough to "inherit", and what I mean by inherit is that I just claimed it, his real, cool white record player. A couple months after he died, Mike and I would play some of the records we got from his record store and some old ones from my childhood (i.e. Raffi and The Mini-Pops).

When I came across this photo, I immediately sent the blog link to my mom and it inspired her to write a post on her own blog and a poem for my blog.

It's Friday again and what haven't I done

Second Friday of January and I still haven't started my new Friday series. I have the nail challenge down packed but I'm having trouble with Fave Fridays or Friday Favorites (not sure what I am going to call it). This is why I don't like writing what I want to accomplish because it's an extreme letdown when I can't do it. I will get to it one day, just not today.

Is it me or did this week drag? I am glad it's Friday but it took too long to get here.  It's almost 9:00 pm and I am ready for bed but I want to watch Piranha first. I know it's going to be stupid but ever since I watched some documentary of these scary creatures, I am obsessed with wanting to watch the movie.

Although today was busy at work, I had the chance to meet up with an old coworker, EM. We worked together at a law firm and managed to keep in touch after I left back in 2004. Don't you love it when you keep in touch with that "one" fellow colleague after you've left? It was great to catch up with her and indulge in some Burger King (so bad for me). We chatted about her little girl (whose name is Alysha - she's my namesake and named after me, how sweet), future vacations and just life in general. I love this girl and I wished we still worked together. We talked about a lot of personal stuff, it's great that we could be so open with each other. I can't wait to see her again.

{photo credit via here}

After work, I went with my coworker, Robbie (let's just call her that but it's not her real name) to The Wedding Co. show over at The Carlu. For my job, we run some events at this beautiful venue so the event coordinator gave us some free tickets. Neither of us are getting married but we thought it was be a fun event. Some of my favorite exhibitors were:

Henkaa | bridesmaids dresses
Laura K Designs | wedding invitations
lifeimages | photography
booth | photo booths
Presidential Catering | fine catering
LOL candy | party goodies
J'adore Cakes Co. | cakes and sweets (macarons!)

 Isn't the third photo so cute?

We took a cute photo over at the photo booth and drank champagne. We could only absorb so much wedding stuff so left after an hour and a half. It was a great way to end the week. Before I end this post, take a look at this video - I was so excited when he played this song.

What are you up to this weekend?
p.s. looks like we aren't watching Piranha because it's not on Rogers on Demand. Boo on you for not having it available when you claim that movies come on Demand the same day as it does in the video stores

baby shower help needed

I am helping plan my BBF's shower in March. I have planned showers before but I want some fresh new ideas. I would love some feedback from you. Please answer any of my questions in a comment. Thanks in advance for your help!

1) What is the best game prize you've won at a baby shower?

2) What would you want to receive as a prize?

3) What cool games have you played at a baby shower?

4) Do you have any cool ideas to incorporate into a baby shower?

I have already got an idea for a banner and my BFF has specifically asked me to make my SKOR bars for the giveaways.

Would Gino... (part 3)

See here for Part 1 and here for Part 2.

Would Gino...

...have an iPad?
...consider doing a big bash or weekend trip for his 30th birthday?
...still have his record store three years later?
...have liked the show Friday Night Lights as much a I do?
...have continued to watch as many concerts as he use to?
...have visited our mom in California already?
...still be living with my dad or on his own by now?

I have been missing my brother a lot these days. I find myself thinking about him and on the verge of crying while on my commute to work. I have to shake my head and snap out of it.

Sephora by OPI: Techno Girl

So, here we are at week 2 of my nail polish challenge. I wish that I was starting backwards, from the bottom up because since it's the winter season, I rather be wearing the darker colours. My boss noticed that I was doing my nails a different colour so I told her about my challenge but didn't tell her that I was blogging about it. I rather not have my coworkers know about my blogging hobby. My boss did tell me that she loves this colour on me rather than the dark colours I usually wear.

This week I am wearing Techno Girl, a bright Barbie pink shade. I think that this is too bright to be wearing for winter but I do think it would be a great shade to wear in the summer on toes with a tan.

Nail tip #2
To ensure your nail polish stays on, after you have given yourself a manicure or after you have removed your polish, give your hands a good rinse with warm, soapy water. Then swipe again some nail polish remover or acetone to remove all oils or water from your nail beds. This will make sure your base coat adheres to your nails.

no 10,000th hit

Okay, I don't know where to start. When I did a revamp of my blog some time last year, I went to this website  to find a counter to keep track of my number of hits. I knew that I wouldn't be starting at 0 so I guessed at a random number that would be pretty close.The web counter has been great but lately with me wanting to find out who my 10,000th hit would be, I have had people tell me that my counter goes all wonky and can't be seen at times. So I thought it was time to change it.

Well, who knew that Blogger had its own counter. Tonight, I just added it on because believe it or not, I saw that my mom had one and asked her where she got it from. Looks like Blogger has been keeping track of my hits and I am actually at 13,163. Boy, was I ever off. So, since I screwed up, I will send a little treat to the five people who contacted me to let me know that they were pretty close to 10,000.

Those four people are Jeff at 9996, Marilen at 9997, Luckie at 9999, Pinkie at 10,002, Annette at 10,004 and Steph SCO at 10,005. It's kinda sad that all these people are family members. LOL!

Monday Memories: Creep by TLC and Ottawa

From December 1995 to May 1996, I lived with Ottawa with my mom. This was a move that I was not too happy with but I wasn't prepared to live on my own at the tender age of 17. I also wasn't prepared to leave the boyfriend I had just started dating at the end of the school year. I moved, and boy was I ever lonely. Luckily, I had a courtesy cousin who lived in Ottawa and finally decided to give him a call. Through him, I met his friends and also some people who were going to Carleton University who were from Toronto! Imagine my excitement to find people living in the boring city of Ottawa who were from my hometown. I soon made friends with a girl who lent me her ID so I can party with everyone over in Hull, Quebec who were already 18  (the drinking age in Quebec is 18). I went out almost every night and the nights that we weren't at a bar or clubbing, I was hanging out at a Thai Fusion restaurant that our friends owned (the name escapes me and it's long since closed down). We would come after closing to just drink and eat.

Although I hated living in Ottawa (I really hated everything about it), I did meet some great friends who would make my stay memorable. They made me forget about my boyfriend I left back in Mississauga and showed me that I could still have fun in their sleepy town. Although I don't talk to anyone anymore, when I moved back to Mississauga, I did run into a few of them from time to time.

This song, Creep by TLC reminds me of Ottawa because it was played a lot at the bars we went to.

Fill in the Blank Friday (Winter vs Summer Edition)

Welcome Friday! Don't you just love Fridays? I do except when you get a dumping of snow the day before. That's right, there's finally some snow where I live. Not too pleased about this. Today's FITBF is all about cold winters vs hot summers. Join in the fun over at Lauren's blog and don't forget to link up your post. Happy weekend everyone, hope you're doing something fun!

{photo via}
1.  Winter is cold and miserable. I have some serious SAD going on. I am sad all the time and I always just want to crawl into my warm bed.  I wish we only had to go through 2-3 months of this crappy weather.

2.  Summer is beautiful, uplifting and should exist all year round.  The sun brings cheerfulness and lots of smiles.

3.  If it were summer instead of winter right now
I'd be on a patio with some friends having a couple of beers or even just sitting in a friend's backyard, again having beers or yummy sangria!

4.  My favorite thing to do in winter is
nothing really, except for stay in bed with a cup of hot tea watching old movies or a season of a TV show. Movie or TV marathons are great on cold snowy or rainy days.

5.  My favorite thing to do in summer is
go to the farmer's market, shop at outdoor malls, backyard BBQ's, vacation and just enjoy the sun.
6.  The ideal outfit for a sunny summer day is a cute summer dress with super high heels or a romper with fancy flip flops. And to complete the outfit - big sunglasses.

7.  The ideal outfit for a frigid winter day is pajamas with Uggs (but that's for inside the house, I would never wear this out).

P.S. - check out the lovely Lauren over at Ground Rules. She is doing a 30 day vlog challenge on hair and makeup. It's pretty fun to see the different styles she's doing.

Today, I wanted to start a new series but I'm exhausted. For the past couple of nights, I have been going to sleeping close to 2 am. It's been tough facing the each day with only four hours of sleep. I'll start the series next Friday and just a heads up, I won't be continuing with Blog Friend Fridays this year. So for today, I will complete the usual Fill in the Blank Friday (when I get home cuz I am swamped at work).

I'm looking forward to doing nothing this weekend. Maybe Miike and I will finally make it to Yorkville to walk around. I really want to go to Cole Haan and get some shoes or boots. For Friday Night Lights fans, did you know that Season 5 has been on since October 27? I'm surprised at myself that I didn't know the final season has started. This weekend will be a marathon.

One other thing I need to do is finish up an infinity scarf  I started last month and then start a scarf for my hubby's best friend. I am debating on whether I should crochet or knit his scarf. Whatever way I choose, it will be a simple and quick project. Do you like to knit or crochet, do you find one easier than the other?

That's it from me. I hope you have a great first weekend in 2011.

Sephora by OPI: A True Romantic

Welcome to week 1 of my nail polish challenge. I am determine to wear every single colour in the above gift set I received for Christmas. At least for 18 weeks, I will know exactly what colour I will be wearing. First up, A True Romantic. It's a very light colour and for those of you who know me, I really ♥ dark polish. I find that light polish doesn't apply properly and you need to apply more than two thick coats to get it all even. This polish is much more pink in real life, the photo actually makes the polish look like a lovely, every day colour. The photo below was taken from my iPhone (hubby's camera was nowhere to be found in the condo), it's crappy but I promise future posts will include a photo from a real camera.

Please excuse my rough, dry cuticles. I should have added some cuticle oil before taking the picture. I am not a big fan of this colour. It would be great for a french manicure but not to wear alone (well, in my opinion).

Nail tip #1
It's pretty tough to paint your own nails. If you get polish all over the sides or on your cuticle, it's okay. If you are like me, who paints their nails before bed, just leave the mess on your nails and when you shower the next morning, use a wet washcloth to remove all the excess polish left behind. It will leave you with a beautiful looking manicure.

What's to come...

a Lame 2011 Goals post

(each week I will paint my nails one of the colours from the 18 piece Sephora by OPI mini nail polish set, I'll go in order)

(since I have no more blogs to feature for now with my Blog Friend Friday, I thought that I'd come up with a new series and ask blogger if they would like to participate and share with everyone their favorite things)

a post about what movies I want to watch next
(I haven't done one of these posts since July)

34 for 34

what I did over the 2010 holidays

I did nothing, so if you are looking for some excitement, you may need to look elsewhere because all I did over the holidays was watch movies. Yes, it's lame but at least I got to relax. Here's everything I watched, some of these I had already watched in the theatre but watched again because Mike hadn't seen it. This is in no particular order...
  1. The Dark Knight - I couldn't watch this movie when it came out back in 2008 for personal reasons. It was a good movie and Heath Ledger was awesome in it. Did he win an award for playing The Joker?
  2. Julie & Julia - I didn't finish it, I fell asleep but the movie was making me real hungry. I love Meryl Streep but not Amy Adams so much.
  3. Obsessed - I don't know why I wanted to watch this but the character Ali Larter plays is pure psycho. I didn't know anyone could be THAT crazy!
  4. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps - this can go down as the longest movie ever. I started to watch it on New Years Eve and it continued into New Years Day. It's that long! Maybe it didn't make any sense to me because I didn't see the first one.
  5. 27 Dresses - Not a big fan of this movie but any movie with Katherine Heigl is great for background noise.
  6. Salt - I really enjoyed this movie and I don't think I would have watched it if Tom Cruise was the lead. Angelina Jolie is bad-ass.
  7. Step Up 3 - I saw this in the theatre but watched it again with the Solon Massive. It's cheesy - Step Up 1 and 2 are much better.
  8. The Town - Great movie. This was another one of my favorite movies. The best part...Ben Affleck's abs. Anyone who has seen this movie will agree.
  9. Going the Distance - Good movie to watch if you are planning to or already doing the long distance thing.
  10. The Devil Wears Prada - I love this movie and I can watch it over and over again.
  11. Sex and the City & Sex and the City 2 - I have both movies in Blu-ray and who can pass up a Blu-ray movie. I love these movies for the fashion and Carrie & Big's apartment.
  12. Step Up 2 - My favorite out of the trilogy, is there even such a thing as a dance trilogy? The final battle scene is the best.
  13. 10 Things I Hate About You - I wanted to watch this movie after seeing Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. It was nice to see how far he had come. His life ended too soon, he was a very talented actor just reaching his peak.
  14. Takers - Eye candy galore. I watched this twice at home and once in the theatre. There's a part that makes me so sad, it's pathetic that it makes me emotional but honestly, it almost brings me to tears. If you are curious about what part I am talking about, I'll email you - I don't want to spoil anything.
  15. The Switch - The kid in the movie is adorable. I am glad that I waited to watch this movie at home, would have not been worth it to pay to see it in the theatre.
  16. Yes, Man - Don't bother watching this...
  17. Valentine's Day - I'm a sap for liking this movie. I heart how all stories intertwine (like Crash, Playing By Heart, etc.)
  18. It's Complicated - Another Meryl Streep movie. It's a cute movie.
  19. Grown Ups - MAIZE is all I have to say. Oh, and Toe-Be-Bryant.
That's everything I watch, I think...One movie that I wanted to watch but couldn't get into was A-Team. The movies that I really enjoyed were Salt, The Town and Grown Ups. One movie that I truly enjoyed is Easy A but I watched it before the holidays.

Have you seen any of these? Do you have any favorites?

how I spent new years day

Okay, so I have been in my home since Thursday. I finally left the condo today to go to the mall with Mike to return something. I honestly didn't mind being at home because I didn't spend any money. Although there is a little something I want to buy, I'm still on the fence about it, I'll explain more later.

Asides from watching a ton of movies all week (I should create a mass list of everything I watched over the holidays), I pulled out my O-town concert DVD and also Backstreet Boys' collection of music videos. It was like going back in time (as Mike would say, taking it back to my childhood). Of all the videos, this one cracks me up the most. The dancing is hilarious. Now I know where D*ck in a Box stems from - BSB's dancing and the basketball scenes - it's so 90s and so Orlando-ish (where all boy bands come from).

After watching all these videos, I am really kicking myself for not buying a ticket for the NKOTBSB Tour. The problem is, they are going to be in Toronto on June 8 and 9 and it's a day after my anniversary (it's going to be 5 years this year) and I just know I am going to be on a beach somewhere. Oh well, they'll be back or maybe they will release a tour DVD.

I finally took the time to clean up my makeup kit. It's been a while since I've done this. We have a rule in our home that when you buy something new, something old must leave the house (you can either throw it out, donation it or give it to someone who you think may want it). In this case, I am going to throw out this makeup because it's damn old. I can't believe that I have gone this long without doing a sweep. So, here's what I am going rid of. It's a crappy photo but it doesn't matter since it's all going to the garbage.

What did you do New Years Day?
(since everything was closed)

P.S. - what do you think of this watch? I have tried it on twice and I am not sure if I should spend the dough on it. Not sure if I'll get sick of white eventually or if I should just go with a gold boyfriend watch. Decisions, decisions...
